2015-16 Panini National Treasures holds the signature that sits at the top of the Nikola Jokic rookie class — but it is not the card most listings say it is.
Jokic has no 2015-16 National Treasures Rookie Patch Autograph. The RPA subset exists in that product — Karl-Anthony Towns is in it at #101 — and Jokic is not on it. His National Treasures rookie signature is Rookie Autographs #152, numbered to 99, an on-card autograph with no memorabilia swatch. Anything advertised as a “National Treasures Jokic RPA” is mislabelled.
That correction matters, because the RPA framing is how buyers get talked into paying patch-auto money for a signature-only card, and how sellers justify a price on a card that was never built the way the title claims.
The verified 2015-16 National Treasures Jokic checklist
The signature
- Rookie Autographs #152 — /99. The card. On-card signature, no swatch.
- Parallels on the same #152: Silver /25, Gold /10, Emerald /5, Platinum /1.
The relics (all unsigned)
- NBA Rookie Materials #10 — /99, Prime /10, Super Prime /1.
- Rookie Jumbo Materials #31 — /99, Prime /10, Patch /5, Super Prime /1.
- Super Swatches Rookies #27 — /99, Prime /10, Super Prime /1.
- Rookie Logoman #31 — 1/1. A logo patch card, no signature.
Two card numbers, #31 and #10, do a lot of work in this product; read the subset name as well as the number when you identify a copy.
Where Jokic’s real rookie patch autos live
If what you actually want is a Jokic rookie card carrying both a signature and a memorabilia piece, five 2015-16 products deliver it and National Treasures is not one of them:
- Immaculate Collection — Rookie Logoman Autographs #133, 1/1. The scarcest configuration in his whole rookie class, and the card that generally leads the signed market.
- Panini Noir — Autographed Patch Color Rookies #255 (/99, Tags /3) and Autographed Patch Black and White Rookies #225 (/99, Tags /2). The most attainable genuine Jokic rookie patch autos.
- Panini Limited — Rookie Jersey Autographs #17, /99, with Silver Spotlight /49, Gold Spotlight /25, Holo Gold Spotlight /10 and Platinum Spotlight /1.
- Panini Spectra — Rookie Jerseys Autographs #122, base Prizms unnumbered, Orange /25, Gold /10, Black /1.
- Panini Excalibur — Rookie Rampage Jumbo Jersey Autographs #35, with a Prime version /15.
How to approach the National Treasures chase
- Read the subset, then the number, then the serial. “National Treasures Jokic rookie auto” covers one real card, #152. If the photo shows a swatch window, it is not #152 and it is not a National Treasures Jokic autograph.
- Buy graded, always. At this level, a third-party grade guarantees the signature and the condition. An ungraded premium card is a risk you don’t need to take.
- Watch sold comps, not asking prices. The gap between a hopeful listing and a real sale is widest at the top of the market.
Buying it safely
More than any other Jokic rookie, National Treasures attracts counterfeits, forged autographs, and doctored slabs — the money involved makes it a target. For anything at this level:
- Buy graded from PSA, BGS, or SGC so authenticity, the auto, and the condition are all guaranteed.
- Verify the certification independently. If you’re checking an autograph, our guide to spotting fake Jokic autographs walks through on-card vs sticker and the red flags.
- Compare against sold comps, never the lowest asking price.
- Treat “RPA” in a National Treasures Jokic title as a reason to walk, not a reason to bid.
