Nikola Jokic entered the NBA in the 2015-16 season after being drafted 41st overall in 2014 — a second-round pick famously announced during a Taco Bell commercial. That underdog origin plus his rise to MVP means his once-overlooked rookies have become premium cards. There’s no single “Jokic rookie” — there’s a class of 2015-16 rookies to chase, from affordable base cards to Prizm parallels and on-card autos.
The rookie-year brands
Jokic’s 2015-16 rookie cards appear across Panini’s brands — though not all of them. The families that matter:
- Panini Prizm (#335) — the flagship chrome-style rookie, with sought-after Silver Prizm and colored parallels. Full rainbow breakdown on the Prizm parallels page.
- Panini Select (#128) — the Premier Level chrome rookie with its own Silver Prizm run; Select is tiered (Concourse / Premier / Courtside), but there’s no Concourse or Courtside Jokic rookie.
- Donruss (#215) — the accessible paper Rated Rookie, plus a second rookie-year insert, The Rookies (#43)
- Panini Limited (#199) — numbered to 80, the scarcest of the non-autograph mid-tier rookies
- Clear Vision (#99), Revolution (#114), Threads (#179), Excalibur (#199), Totally Certified (#167) — the rest of the affordable base-rookie field
- Signed rookies — Select Die-Cut Rookie Autographs (#38, /60) and Donruss Signature Series (#56) are the accessible autos; Preferred Rookie Silhouettes (#25, /99, Prime /25) and Spectra Rookie Jerseys Autographs (#122) pair a signature with a memorabilia piece
- Ultra-premium hits — National Treasures Rookie Autographs (#152, /99) is the flagship signature, but it is signature-only: Jokic has no National Treasures rookie patch auto. His genuine rookie patch autos are Immaculate Rookie Logoman Autographs (#133, 1/1), Noir Autographed Patch Color Rookies (#255, /99) and Black and White Rookies (#225, /99), and Limited Rookie Jersey Autographs (#17, /99). Flawless Rookies (#145, /20) and Gala Rookies (#126, /8) are the lowest-print unsigned base rookies — his Flawless signature is a separate card, Flawless Rookie Autographs #4
Watch out: Jokic has no rookie card in 2015-16 NBA Hoops, Contenders, Complete or Donruss Optic — four mainstream sets that skipped him. The rookie card checklist lists every real card, with numbers, and explains the sets that left him out.

How to approach the chase
If you want one iconic rookie, most collectors gravitate toward a Panini Prizm base or Silver Prizm in a high grade. If you’re building a rainbow, the 2015-16 class and the deep Prizm parallel run give you dozens of different looks to hunt — the best Jokic Prizm parallels page walks that rainbow tier by tier. Either way:
- Decide your budget tier first — raw commons, mid-grade slabs, or high-grade chase.
- Buy graded above four figures. Counterfeits circulate on his premium rookies; a PSA/BGS/SGC slab protects you.
- Watch sold comps, not asking prices. The links above open live listings so you’re always looking at the current market.
